Brand New 2018 Bikes Released!

TARMAC

When it was time to design a new Tarmac, we looked to pro racing to decide how we should improve it. And with the more extreme needs of the top pros, we knew we’d need Rider-First Engineered™ handling, but in a lighter, faster, and smoother package. To pull this off, we had to turn traditional design on its head and develop the all new S -Works Tarmac. Without a doubt, it’s the fastest, most complete race bike you’ve ever ridden.

DROPPED SEATSTAYS

The addition of “dropped” seatstays to the Tarmac bring it in line with the other competitive road bikes in our family. During the development of the original Shiv TT, we learned that, by lowering the attachment of the seatstays on the seat tube, we were able to hide the tube from the wind with little to no cost on stiffness. Over time, we’ve since developed this design to be featured in the Venge ViAS, Roubaix, an  even the Allez and Allez Sprint. Again, leaning in to the co-optimization of the frame’s layup, we’re able to adjust the composition of the frame to feature lower seatstays for improved aerodynamics, while also increasing both rear end responsiveness and compliance.

D-SHAPED SEATPOST AND SEAT TUBE

Development of the seatpost was critical for improving aerodynamic performance and comfort. We started by setting a parameter for seatpost deflection to be equal to or greater than that of the last Tarmac. Any additional aerodynamic gains would need to be made without sacrificing the comfort of the rider. To do this, we landed on a D-shaped truncated air foil seatpost that performs much better aerodynamically, and then we adjusted the lay up to progressively add stiffness as it moved down the length of the seatpost. This means that engineered flex is added near the seatpost head to provide the most possible comfort, while the shape provides a tangible aerodynamic advantage in the high-speed air flow zone between rider’s leg.

WEIGHT

733g in size 56cm should say every thing you need to know.

733g in size 56cm should say every thing you need to know.

This is a 200g weight savings from the previous Rider- First Engineered™ Tarmac. As mentioned above, this saving comes from the ability to co-optimise each of the Tarmac’s performance targets, so that reducing weight doesn’t negatively affect the frames handling or aerodynamic performance. To do this, we engineered the most precisely sized mandrels we’ve ever made, ensured incredibly precise ply placement, and pleated larger plies so that, when expanded during moulding, they create the smallest ply overlaps without creating gaps.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SHARED PLATFORMS

Through our partnership with Retül, we have access to over 40,000 digital fit points, and through this, we’ve changed how we tackle our philosophy and approach to product development. Now, our brand is able to put the way people ride ahead of their gender. The way forward is to reimagine our frame geometry with both women a d men in mind. And by utilising fit graphs, we looked at how men and women are fitting on our bikes and then ensure that the geometries we’re developing serve the riders and the experience they’re looking for. Ultimately, we’ve developed overlapping geometries based on the desired experience of the riders, so we’re able to put the way people ride ahead of their gender.

DIVERGE

Shockingly fast. Seriously Fun

While the fun might start where the road ends, you still need a bike that’ll get you there—one bike that shreds gravel and dirt and crushes through road miles with equal expertise. Sure, some have tried to make their ‘cross bikes more “road-capable” (whatever that means), and others have made their road bikes more “adventure-ready,” but we created one bike that makes no compromises between the two. The Diverge redefines the possibilities of a drop-bar bike.

Key Changes

  • Future Shock
  • Open-road geometry
  • Shared platform for Men and Women

ALLEZ

Allez means go!

Discerning riders exist at all levels and our goal with the all-new Allez was to build the best alloy road bike, regardless of price point. We began by focusing on building a frameset that’s lightweight and Win-Tunnel-proven, and then we completed the build with high-end components, like Specialized tyres with Gripton® and Body Geometry saddles. And while these things are expected in bikes that cost thousands, the Allez makes these technologies accessible to everyone..

Key Changes

  • FRedesigned E5 Alloy Frame
  • 450g weight reduction
  • Rack and fender mounts
  • FACT Carbon Fork and steerer

EPIC

A pedigree that boasts more World Cup, World Championship, Olympic, and Cape Epic wins than we can count—if a bike were the sum of its accolades, the Epic would sit atop the throne. And to make sure of it, our new Epic features a completely redesigned, ultra-lightweight frame, confidence-inspiring geometry, and a totally new Brain rear shock that’s engineered to read the terrain for the most efficient ride possible, making it the fastest XC bike on the planet.

IT’S LIGHTER

Rider- First Engineered™ frame that saves *up to 525 grams, while also maintaining stiffness. Not an easy task—yes, that is frame weight alone (*Pro, Expert, and Comp frames).

IT’S SMARTER

New Brain 2.0 is completely redesigned. Sitting closer to the rear axle for improved bump responsiveness and a ne w layout and oil flow path for more consistent damping control and bump performance.

IT’S FASTER

Longer reach, slacker head tube, & custom fork off set creates a better handling package. Climbing or descending, stability, and confidence are no longer after thought.
