Like it or not, the world is an increasingly busy place. We know how important moving fast can be to the success of your day-to-day life and so we designed the perfect bike to help you out.

The Vado 4.0 takes our proven Turbo pedal-assist technology and moulds it into a package that's perfect for day-to-day riding. Getting around fast will really take the sting out of those long and busy days.

Starting with the completely redesigned integrated motor, the Vado 4.0 has plenty of features which make it a joy to ride around any city. The Rx Street Tune takes an output of 250 watts and creates a motor system that reacts to the amount of force applied to the pedals; perfect for ever-changing urban environments.

The motor is designed to match your power; the more you push, the more the motor puts out. Accelerations are efficient and you'll pick up speed quickly from every red light. The motor is belt-driven to ensure it works smoothly, silently and without annoying vibrations.

A custom, 504Wh battery was developed for the Vado 4.0. It integrates seamlessly with the frame and, once again, we've kept usability in mind it's both lockable and easily removable when it's time for a charge.

Based on rolling terrain, no strong winds, and a rider plus bike' weight of 220 pounds, we estimate the battery will deliver a boost for up to 105 miles in Economy Mode. This becomes 45 miles in Sport mode and 30 miles when running in Turbo. There's no doubt in our mind that you'll make it to work, the shops or your favourite caf with plenty of power in hand.

Developed with German powerhouse BLOKS, you'll also be able to use our custom 2.2 inch computer. This smart touchscreen device will allow you to connect to our Mission Control App via Bluetooth.

You'll have plenty of options available at your fingertips including full personalisation of preferences and features such as navigation, tracking, diagnostics and ride history. A Smart Control function also removes any range anxiety; you'll know exactly what the battery has left to offer. Lastly, a custom handlebar remote allows you to toggle between options without removing your hands from the bars making it extra safe.

The Vado 4.0 is designed to make your life easier and we kept this in mind right through to the reliable and worry-free spec. Shimano 11-speed components are twinned with hydraulic disc brakes, racks and fenders. Wherever you need to go, our Vado gets you there faster.

I bought the Vado 4 almost two years ago. Didn't use it much at first. A spoke went, well they do. I rode it a bit last summer but not much. Then COVID came and I've done a few hundred miles this year. I am a big bloke, 6' 4", and a bit overweight. The battery won't ever get me past 30 miles despite careful use of only the first electric gear support and switching off downhill. Never turbo or second. It is hilly round here. Two more spokes went on one ride, then another. Specialised in the end have replaced the wheels with mountain bike wheels which the guys at the store are much happier about. That was free, but when it went in for the fit, they said it needed a new chain and cassette. Cost £180. It's probably my fault for buying an urban bike and for that it would be fine I'm sure. I'm going to sell it though and get a gravel e-bike which will be tougher all round.
