Our Women's Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 27.5 has every touchpoint specifically designed for female riders, embodying our belief that no compromises should be made when out on the trail. This bike goes above and beyond, shattering every rule in the design book along the way, making use of a radical asymmetrical frame and custom shock tunes exclusively for women.

In pursuit of a better-performing Stumpy we really dialled in the stiffness because that's the key thing about a bike that makes it feel almost telepathically connected to its rider.

Combining a proprietary mountain-specific stiffness test with Finite Element Analysis, we were able to examine the connection between the hands and feet of a rider, how they interacted with the machine and which areas of the bike needed the biggest stiffness improvements. A big discovery was made upon doing these tests: our smaller frames required only minor improvements, while larger frames needed a bit more front-end stiffness. With this in mind, we were able to reduce the weight of the small frames by 20% while keeping the same stiffness standards in the front triangle. We were also able to revamp the larger frames, dialling up stiffness by 20% while optimising low weight.

With stiffness nailed, we turned towards the rear-end of the bike to see how we could make each ride that little bit better. A radical new Sidearm frame design was born the arm connecting all three shock mounting points in one structure allowing for only minimal frame flex while the suspension is active. This contributed to the incredible overall feel of the Stumpjumper on a fresh trail. A significant 100 grams was also shaved off the rear of the frame, thanks to this new Sidearm design.

A custom Women's Rx Tune on both the fork and rear shock adds to the suspension performance, as well as stiffness, of the new Stumpjumper. Wheel, frame and rider size all greatly impact upon the performance of a bike's suspension and therefore require a tool that can land each bike in the middle of the suspension adjustment spectrum. The Rx Tune does just that, giving the rider the widest possible range to fine-tune their ride. Each Rx Tune also needed to be specifically tweaked for the relevant wheel size, ensuring that no one misses out on that much-vaunted linear suspension.

Easier to live with than ever before, the Stumpy features a threaded bottom bracket, plus clearance for 3.0 tyres. There's no proprietary nonsense when it comes to the shock, either, you're free to run the aftermarket option that most appeals.

The SWAT box has also received a makeover 20% more volume and a sleeker, lighter finish will make you love riding this bike even more. A Flip Chip adds to the available customisation features of the Stumpy a flick from High to Low allows you to slacken their head tubes by half-a-degree and shorten their reach by 5mm, while also dropping their bottom bracket by 6mm perfect for navigating trickier, more technical trails. The little detail of the ribbed chain stay protector goes hidden for the most part but it will certainly be appreciated when ragging over rough terrain, making chain slap a thing of the past.

Shimano SLX shifters, RaceFace cranks, an XT rear derailleur, Shimano SLX disc brakes, FOX front and rear suspension, and Roval Traverse 27.5 wheels also adorn this bike and add to its promise of undeniable quality. The inclusion of a Body Geometry Myth Comp saddle, Slip Grips and 750mm bars also ensure that every contact point between rider and bike is specifically designed with women in mind.
