The Stumpjumper EVO Pro Carbon has landed

Around a year ago here at Specialized, we revealed the alloy Stumpjumper EVO, the rowdy big brother to the trail-tuned Stumpjumper, built for hard riding and bigger terrain. This spring we’re blessed with the machine to take your riding to the next level – say hello the Stumpjumper EVO Pro Carbon.

Using the same long and slack geometry found on the alloy model, the progressive geometry and excellent FSR suspension of the Pro Carbon promises a responsive ride capable of whatever you throw down. Nailing DH trails, flying off drops, slaying through the rowdiest of rock gardens – however, you do it you'll find yourself right at home on the Stumpy EVO Pro Carbon.

For just a little background on the Stumpjumper’s appeal, let’s take a minute to discover a few other bikes in the range…

The whole Stumpy crew is one that is always ready to rock and roll, up for a party and usually listening to heavy metal at top volume. Long, loose and happiest on the roughest trails, the Stumpjumper Comp makes no compromises. Its M5 alloy frame is stiff and responsive, the Rx Trail Tune allowing for a wide range of suspension performance so you can dial in for your ride. With masses of tyre clearance, available in 27.5” and 29er smile-inducing geometry, it is long, loose, slack and more capable than ever, encouraging you to get truly rowdy and reckless on the trail.

Do the EVO-lution

The EVO is the crazy cousin in this family, a more progressive supersized and supercharged version of the regular Stumpjumper. With a longer reach, lower bottom-bracket and slacker head angle, it’s built to take a real beating – bigger hits and harder riding – out on the trail. The EVO Comp alloy, again available in 27.5” and 29er geometry, pushes the Stumpjumper into gravity riding territory, with heavier steering and exceptional front-end traction just begging you to boost each kicker you spot. As with the Stumpy Comp, the Rx Trail Tune sets the suspension characteristics so that the response is perfectly linear no matter what frame and wheel size you choose. The EVO is the beast for the gnarliest riders out there.

The favourite son in the Stumpy family has got to be the new star of the show. Don’t expect a traditional ride on the Stumpjumper EVO Pro Carbon – it’s for those who live for gravity riding. Big drops, huge kickers, rocks, roots – whatever you throw its way, the EVO Pro can handle it. The frame is constructed from our highest grade FACT 11M carbon, not only lighter than the alloy version but bringing a whole new level of feel and responsiveness.

Just like the alloy version, the EVO Pro Carbon is available in both 27.5” and 29er geometry. Up front the 150mm GRIP2 damper-equipped Fox Float 36 Performance Elite fork takes care of the big hits. Paired with a coil-sprung Fox DHX2 shock at the rear – 140mm on the 29er, 150mm on the 27.5” – this plants the EVO Pro on solid ground with trail-hugging hold when you need it and more than enough guts when you’re going for glory. Tuned with our custom Rx Trail Tune, it’s designed to provide supple performance to soak up terrain and boost traction and to take the bigger hits when you need it.

Rolling underneath you you’ll find Roval carbon-rimmed wheels with top-of-the-range DT Swiss 350 hubs shod in 2.6” Butcher GRID tyres. All of this creates a bike that is made to hit the trail hard and stick to it.

The progressive feel of the SRAM Code RSC 4-piston hydraulic brakes combined with 200mm rotors puts serious stopping power at the end of your fingertips. The SRAM GX Eagle groupset provides unparalleled shifting performance, a wide gear range and a tight hold on your chain – trust us, you’ve got all you need here.

We’ve not forgotten about the details here either. The Command IRcc dropper seat post gives you a huge 160mm of travel beneath your perch. The downtube holds a SWAT box – the safest, sleekest and most organised way to carry your essentials while out on the trail. Tools, tubes or the all-important gummy bears? You decide.

Contained beneath the top cap of the stem is another nifty compartment, this one hiding a multi-tool, chain tool and spare chain link in the steerer tube. Well, if you were this good looking, you’d want to ensure that every last detail was neatly tucked away, right?

The Stumpjumper EVO Pro Carbon comes in two sizes: S2 and S3. With the various reach and wheel size options, there’s one with your name on it if you’re looking for the ultimate aggressive gravity-oriented trail bike. The ‘flip-chip’, which is also found on the rest of the range, is a nifty switch that allows you to subtly change the shape of the bike depending on how you want to nail that next sector. Switch it from High to Low and it drops your bottom bracket 6mm and slackens the head tube by half-a-degree.

The all-new Stumpjumper EVO Pro Carbon comes in a head-turning stealthy raw carbon finish that just begs to be ridden. Get down to your local Specialized Concept Store and feast your eyes. Love at first sight is guaranteed.
