Introducing the new Grid Trail & Control Tyre Casings

Trail riders are pushing the limits, riding more technical trails at higher speeds. That evolution places greater demands on tires, which need to be stable at lower tire pressures while also fending off the pinch flats that are more likely to occur when you are riding fast over rough terrain. That’s why we’re rolling out several of our existing tire models in a new, more heavily-reinforced GRID TRAIL casing.

NEW CONTROL CASINGS OFFER BETTER PINCH-FLAT RESISTANCE

Control casings have always been a smart choice for cross-country riders looking for all-rounder tires. Today’s cross-country riders, however, are also pushing themselves to ride faster over increasingly technical terrain—and they’re doing that on wider tires and rims, at lower tire pressures.
That’s why we’re adding a bit more pinch-flat protection to the Control casing formula.

INTRODUCING THE NEW BUTCHER

The Butcher has long been our go-to tire for maximum traction in aggressive conditions. Butcher always offered strong cornering grip in dry and loose conditions, as well as aggressive braking traction. But that doesn’t mean we couldn’t improve on it. Enter the redesigned Butcher, which takes all of Butcher’s strengths and adds improved cornering support and ride characteristics in all trail conditions.
Think of it as a Butcher that hooks up even better in the corners and feels more predictable on all types of trails.

INTRODUCING THE NEW PURGATORY

The Purgatory has always been a lightweight, fast-rolling tire that works well in a wide range of conditions. This new version of the Purgatory still excels as an all-rounder, yet gains braking traction. New, flexible centre sipes fold out under braking force for increased ground contact and grip.
The new Purgatory also features improved cornering bite, courtesy of stronger shoulder blocks, In short, riders get all of the quick-rolling traits of the previous Purgatory with more control when they need it most.
