Lee Valley Junior Race Team

We support the Lee Valley Junior race team through Specialized.

The team themselves are always in the thick of the action on the racing scene and have been impressing with some good results this season.  Below is their opinion of some of the products they are using:

Specialized Evade Helmet // Max Blake:

The Evade helmet is definitely my choice for every ride. Its sleek elegant looks combined with its fit and comfort are unbeatable. The ventilation system serves its purpose in keeping my head cool, even on the long hot rides. The whole team went for the red and black colour scheme, along with our red S-Works shoes which help us stand out at races in the peloton.

Specialized Prevail 2 Helmet // Louis Bilyard:

I went for the Prevail helmet, its slightly more lightweight compared to the Evade and fits my head better. Plenty of vents to keep my head cool and prevent sweat build up on those long climbs; I put this to test in Mallorca! I went for the Iconic red, which fades towards the back of the helmet on this model. This means I look a little different but still fitting in with the team and stand out amongst the other helmets in the peloton. Very comfortable and I don't even know I’ve got it on.

Specialized Tarmac SL6 Expert // Ed Lunn:

Overall I think that this bike is the best I’ve ever ridden. I love the design and the eye-catching red and white colour scheme. The handling and stiffness of the bike is second to none, I can chuck it into corners and it is super responsive when I sprint back out the other side. It’s also comfortable. When racing over the cobbles in Belgium, my hands didn’t go numb and I had no grumbles with my back. If I compare this to other bikes I have ridden, my back would be stiff and hands still shaking. If I was to compare this to my previous bike (Specialized Allez 2015) the Tarmac is so much lighter and really noticeable up the climbs. It’s great to have as my everyday bike and comes into its own in the races.
I also have the red S-Works shoes and red Evade helmet which go with our team kit and match so well. It’s great to have the support from Specialized and fits with the team perfectly.

Specialized S-Works boa shoes // Simon Bird:

The S-Works combined with the Boa system are truly phenomenal. The shoe fits like a glove which makes it extremely comfortable, the dial provides quick and easy adjustment even when riding/racing. I personally find the shoes very stiff which is amazing; there is no movement whatsoever. The S-Works shoes are very light and aerodynamic, and look pristine.

We look forward to seeing more top end results from the guys this season and as always, let the professional look continue!
