The name Stumpjumper is legendary in the world of mountain biking. As one of the first true mountain bikes, it has continually evolved while staying true to its mission: to be the best all-around mountain bike for any trail, in any conditions. The latest Stumpjumper is a testament to this legacy, embodying the spirit of versatility and performance more than ever before.
Creating a bike that excels across diverse riding styles is no small feat. Specialized has leveraged its extensive experience in high-performance bike design to craft the new Stumpjumper, a bike that climbs efficiently and descends with confidence. It's light enough for all-day rides, capable enough for challenging descents, forgiving for beginners, and progressive for seasoned riders.
The new Stumpjumper merges the best features of the previous Stumpjumper and Stumpy Evo models. This redesigned bike offers all the adjustability of the Evo with refined suspension kinematics, making it ideal for a wide range of riders. It also includes optional burlier builds for those who push the limits.
The Stumpjumper 15 uses Specialized's innovative S-Sizing system, ranging from S1 to S6, ensuring a perfect fit for virtually any rider. S1 and S2 sizes come with a mixed wheel setup, while S3 to S6 feature full 29" wheels, with an option to switch to a mullet setup. Standard models come with 150mm front and 145mm rear travel, with an Ohlins coil option that increases front travel to 160mm across all sizes.
The redesigned Stumpjumper is positioned perfectly as a trail bike with 145mm rear travel and 150mm front travel, striking a balance between agility and downhill capability. It's lighter and more agile on climbs than the Evo, while offering more travel and a slacker geometry than the previous Stumpjumper for enhanced descent performance.
The new Stumpjumper features a 145/150mm travel setup, utilising Specialized's proven FSR suspension platform. Gone is the flex-stay design of the previous model. The highlight is the new Genie air shock, developed in collaboration with Fox. This shock provides a coil-like linear feel with incredible traction and bottom-out resistance, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride over any terrain.
The new Stumpjumper's geometry mirrors the long and slack design of the previous Stumpjumper Evo, but with balanced reach and seat tube angles for everyday usability. The bike features a 6-way geometry adjust system, including three head angles and a two-position flip chip at the chainstays for high/low bottom bracket height adjustments. In the neutral position, it boasts a 64.5º head tube angle and a 77º seat tube angle, making it versatile for various riding styles.
The updated Stumpjumper frame is sleeker, lighter, and more refined, with an accessible shock from both sides and a cleaner overall appearance. The new model is currently available in carbon and is exclusively compatible with electronic drivetrains, specifically T-Type and older AXS generations. The frame includes a new SWAT Box with a flush mount lid and mechanical latch for easy access and a neat finish.
The new Stumpjumper is designed for trail and all-mountain riders who want one bike that does it all. It's suitable for novice, intermediate, and advanced riders, offering confident handling on descents and nimble performance on climbs.
The Stumpjumper comes in five spec levels: Comp, Expert, Pro, Ohlins Coil, and S-Works, with a frame-only option also available.
