The Best of the Best

If there’s one thing that unites everyone in the Specialized family, from the designers and engineers to everyone who rides our bikes, it’s the belief that bicycles change lives. We’re always looking to the future, to inspire the next generation of riders to be the best they can be. It’s driven us for the past 45 years and it will be what drives us in the years to come.

This year has been one of the best yet. From Julian Alaphilippe lighting up the Tour de France on his Tarmac, Tom Pidcock growing into a cyclocross superstar aboard his S-Works Crux right down to 10-year-olds ripping their local pump track on Riprocks, we’ve had a blast so far.

Not a bad start to the year

When most folks are tucked away from the winter weather there’s a special breed of rider who just gets out there. Cyclocross is a sport that demands the best of riders and their bikes, and the 2019 Crux has won more races than most. Yorkshire lad Tom Pidcock rode his to some impressive victories this year, culminating in a triple crown of National Elite and European and World U23 titles. Fast, agile, good-looking – and that’s just the bike!

Next up on the agenda was Paris-Roubaix, a race we love for its unforgiving cobbles and spectacular racing. In fact, you could say we’re obsessed with it – we’ve named a bike after it and we sponsor the whole bash as well. The 2020 Roubaix is the latest iteration of our most versatile, balanced and responsive road bike, equipped with bump-taming technology and more aero than ever.

And who could forget Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe’s heroics in the Tour this year, one of the most exciting editions of the race. A lot of the credit for that went to ‘Loulou’, his relentless attacking on board his Tarmac and blistering TT on the new Shiv setting the fireworks off. Then again, Elia Viviani’s sprinting on his Venge brought out the champagne too. What a Tour!

Innovate, always

That’s been our mantra since day one. Innovation is in our DNA, and with our new Creo SL we’ve pulled out all the stops. No e-bike out there is lighter, more versatile or more suited to your life. We didn’t just shove a motor in one of our standard bikes – no way, we went right back to basics and built up the Creo from scratch. The motor is ours, designed by us for you. The name comes from the Latin for ‘create’, and that’s just what we’ve done – created a whole new bike for a whole new world.

This philosophy extends to all bikes across the Specialized range. When updating our cross-country MTB hardtail, the Epic, we used the latest technology and lightest materials to give you an unparalleled advantage. It’s not just the lightest mountain bike frame we've ever made, it's our lightest frame ever.

The same goes for the Enduro and super-versatile Stumpjumper, bikes that come with an in-built ‘make you smile’ guarantee.

The best way to start

If you have children, you’ll know they have seemingly endless reserves of energy. You’ll also know they just love bikes. Just like the rest of us really.

We put the same effort into creating bikes for kids as we do for everyone else. From balance bikes right through to their first multi-geared disc-braked whip, a Specialized bike gives your little’ uns the confidence to ride and instils a passion for the bike that will grow with them. These are the bikes you wish you’d had when you were a nipper.

And, hey, that’s not all. From helmets to pumps, seat packs to saddles, everything we do is designed with one goal in mind – to make your ride as special as it can be.

We’re not stopping here though. We’re excited to see what we can do next, excited to share it with you and excited to see what the next few years bring. Ready to join in the fun? Get down to one of our stores and start your ride with Specialized.
