We don't think the performance and security of the joins on your frame should be left down to the individual skill of whichever welder works on it, so we came up with D'Aluisio Smart Weld. DSW lets us move the position of the join, shifting it further from the areas of maximum stress, without actually compromising the strength. This means you get a lighter frameset that's stiff, compliant, and incredibly strong. Soon you'll be floating up climbs and tearing through singletrack on a bike that will dispel any misgivings you might have about aluminium.

Further boosting the awesome ride experience, the Chisel also features our XC 29 geometry, building on our previous XC race geo with a sprinkling of trail DNA. The top tube gets longer, the head tube gets shorter and the front end has some added slack the combination of these three giving the bike a tremendous increase in downhill stability, as well as a wider range of fits. And the best part None of these tweaks sacrifices the Chisel's climbing ability.

The build on this model features a mix of SRAM GX and NX one-by components, for frighteningly fast and efficient shifting at the moments you need it most. This also means the bike benefits from added protection against chain drop. You'll find powerful SRAM Level TL hydraulic disc brakes, plus a dependable RockShox Reba RL fork with up to 100mm of travel (size-specific), and 25mm alloy wheels, optimised for weight and traction.
