If you can characterize your life as on-the-go busy or not having enough time we made a bike for you—the Turbo Vado 3.0. It's made to accommodate busy lives that are always in movement which is why we took our proven Turbo pedal-assist technology and accelerated it into the future. It features a custom 250-watt motor and 460Wh battery that are fully integrated with the bike and specifically tuned for city riding and in the case of the battery it doesn't require any tools for removal so it's super easy to remove from the bike for charging. You might have noticed that this motor has the same output as the 4.0 which is true but where the internals of these two diverge is at the battery and custom motor tune. This 3.0 iteration of the Vado's battery has a little less
- A custom 2.2-inch BLOKS. digital LCD display enables you to monitor all of your ride data in real time. It also connects with the Turbo Vado Mission Control App (available later this year) via Bluetooth®, so you have full control over the tune, modes, range, and much more.
- The Vado’s Specialized 1.2 motor is fully integrated with the frame and is custom-tuned for city riding. This means that it intuitively reacts to the force of your pedaling—so the harder you pedal, the more power it delivers. And with an internal belt drive design, it does this without added vibration for the smoothest and most silent ride possible.
- Custom Specialized U1-460 battery is fully integrated with the frame, removable for easy charging, and lockable for added security. It communicates with the display and has multiple modes to maximize the overall efficiency and range.
Please note that this bike does not come with pedals.

At the age of pushing 60, too many speeding tickets lead me to a period of time without a car. It seemed to make sense to acquire and E-bike. I already have a Specialized Tricross Sport but I wanted to get to the office still able to work and arrive home in the evening able the function. The Vado 3.0 seemed ideal. I'm not a small chap at 192cm tall and 106Kg. So many bikes seem to come in small sizes... maybe the larger American builds require larger bikes? The daily commute is 10.6 miles each way. I know this because the clear computer display on the bike tells me so. I can also see the details on my phone through connected android app that allows me to configure the set-up of the bike and see the route I have taken. The app also tells me I have climbed an assent of 340 ft on the ride home. Using a combination of Eco, Sport and Turbo assist for the steepest climbs I can get 12 mph quite comfortably up steep (for me) inclines. It's like having a hand on my back, pushing me uphill. A press of the power selector you feel a noticeable but gentle increase in assistance so I never truly break sweat. After a round trip, the battery will be at 65%
Yes, this is a means to an end. I am not using it for pleasure cycling but commuting too and from work...But you know what? I am loving it. After becoming disillusioned with cycling on the Tricross I am finally into cycling. And if E-bikes do nothing else... that is surely enough!
Love cycling but getting harder and harder due to loss of power through Parkinson’s disease. E bike seemed perfect answer.
The Vado
Good. Looks the part and nice lines. Battery integrated and not just stuck on the down tube. Suspension helpful. Three power modes but Eco fine for general cycling. Quick charging and 460 Whrs. Easy to understand controls and battery locked in. Clear display of speed and battery charge remaining plus various other parameters.
Ride comfortable and pedal assist smooth and predictable. Very quiet motor. The quietest of all the e bikes I tried. Lights helpful.
Not so good. Range less than I was expecting. 60 miles on Eco from full charge on a flat and wind free route. Specialized web site says 93 but I’m sure it was down to the weight of me the rider and bike. I’ll keep an eye on this. Heavy but no more so than all e bikes.
Very disappointing that the Turbo Vado Mission Control App is not available and nobody seems to know when it will be or if ever. Bad customer service for a company the size of and with the reputation of Specialized. It doesn't detract from the ride experience but does leave a bitter taste
All in all very happy. Went twice as far today as I have this year and all without a sweat to notice.
