The S-Works Tarmac is a machine that can win you a Grand Tour, but if you don't need quite that much firepower then the Tarmac Disc Expert is a truly exhilarating machine with the same DNA just a more accessible price tag. This bike is born to hunt race wins in local crits, but is equally happy out on the roads, straining for the summit of your nearest, biggest climb. If you're hunting for KOMs, this is your machine. Of course, the Tarmac features our Rider-First Engineered technology the industry-leading process was pioneered on this model, after all. For those in the dark, Rider-First means we can optimise every frame, regardless of size, so that every Tarmac performs in exactly the same way. That means no more terrifyingly twitchy small frames, or lumbering extra-large ones, just the same precision, elegance and power across the board. That race-winning frame is constructed in FACT 10r carbon fibre so it's brilliantly light but also stiff and robust. The tubes also benefit from specific layups with built-in compliance in all the right places. An Ultegra drivetrain from Shimano provides the super-crisp shifting you'd expect of a bike with this pedigree, with the Japanese brand's RS505 hydraulic disc setup handling the braking duties too. You'll notice the Tarmac Disc Expert is also blessed with a pair of impressive 38mm rims our Roval C38 Disc wheels, no less. Yup, that's lightweight carbon hoops on an Expert-level bike, folks. Looking for superb climbing prowess with fine-tuned control on the descents You found it.
- A FACT 10r carbon fibre frame hits the right balance of value and performance, while our Rider-First Engineeredâ„¢ technology guarantees precision performance across the whole size range.
- You can’t go wrong with Shimano Ultegra shifting, or their hydraulic disc brakes. Time to hammer those descents and glide up the climbs.
- Carbon wheels on a bike at this price point used to be unheard of. Now, we think it’s the new normal. The Roval C38 Disc wheels on this model are light, tough and hyper-versatile.

This bike is amazing. I purchased this bike back in August It is my first carbon bike and I can not believe how quick it is. The r8000 Ultegra is mint, very smooth to change and very reliable. The Roval c38 Carbon wheels are a great addition and they are quick and absorb the road effortlessly. I was a bit worried about spending the money on this but it has been worth every penny so far! The guys in the Specialized concept store in Birmingham have been great and their service has been exemplary.
