One of the greatest shames in cycling is a road, path or beautiful bit of singletrack left unridden because you're not sure if your bike will handle it. The 2019 Diverge Expert X1 aims to end that kind of disappointment for good, providing you with one bike that actually can do it all.

The Expert X1 is, of course, a one-by setup with a 40t chainring up front teamed to an 11-speed 42-10 at the back. This setup lowers maintenance, reduces risk of mechanicals and still provides ample range to take on dirt road climbs and even sprint for the occasional town sign too. Oh and for the weight weenies out there, the removal of the front derailleur also obviously sheds a few precious grams from the overall bike weight.

The FACT 9r carbon frame is built to our exploration-appropriate Open Road Geometry, delivering long-distance comfort, reliable and predictable handling, plus a little bit of zip should you need it. It's also blessed with our Future Shock Progressive tech, adding 20mm of travel above the head tube. By placing the suspension here, we cut out any variation in handling performance, while still smoothing out the road ahead and letting you move faster. A super-light FACT carbon fork keeps things plenty stiff and agile.

Yet another awesome feature of this component build is its Roval C38 carbon wheels, a level of quality and performance rarely seen on an Expert level bike. And did we mention the disc brakes Sure and reliable stopping power is provided by the SRAM Force hydraulic brakes, with shifting duties handles by SRAM too, with a Praxis carbon crankset.

From now on, your bike won't limit where you ride ever again.

  • The FACT 9r carbon frame features our adventure-bound Open Road Geometry, Future Shock Progressive suspension with 20mm of travel, and front/rear thru-axles, making it the ultimate tool for your next adventure.
  • The lightweight FACT carbon fork is plenty stiff, aiding in handling and a light overall weight.
  • Yep, that's right—carbon wheels on an Expert-level bike. The Roval C38 Disc carbon wheels bring performance to the masses. They're lightweight, durable, and ready for your next adventure.

Please note that this bike does not come with pedals.

My first gravel bike and I’m absolutely hooked. Having been a regular road rider, but occasional mountain bike rider this bike really surprised me. For the very first time despite owning several lightweight mountain bikes and a cyclocross, I found a bike that’s as responsive as a road bike off road. This machine easily enables regular 17mph average speeds and offers extremely comfortable gravel and off road cycling. It enables you to explore further distances than a mountain bike. This is due to amazing lightweight road performance off road. Totally recommended and hooked. Also an excellent choice as a winter road bike. You won’t be disappointed!!
