It's not just the S-Works that gets to enjoy all the benefits of carbon. In fact, the new Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 29 comes with the exact same full FACT 11m carbon chassis and rear-end. It's in the component department that we've made changes the Comp Carbon 29 is equipped with a strong list of no-nonsense components to ensure no budget stands in the way of a rider experiencing that perfect ride feel.

Stiffness was key from the off when we sat down to design the new Stumpjumper a key feature for creating a telepathic relationship between rider and bike. With a stiffer frame, the bike can better communicate all the signals from the trail below, instilling the rider up top with supreme confidence and the perfect balance. To achieve super-stiffness, we set to work on tuning all the shapes, layouts and materials in the frame.

Through our own mountain-specific stiffness test and using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyse the layout of our carbon frame, we were able to pinpoint exactly where we could make the most significant improvements to stiffness. It turns out that the small and medium sizes were fine, but the large and x-large sizes needed a little boost in their front-ends. By identifying the key area needing revision, we could then design a frame that ended up being 20% more efficient, as well as one of the lightest trail frames around.

A revolutionary new sidearm design was born from all our tweaking in the stiffness department a feature which helps to keep the front- and rear-end super stiff at the three points where they connect. As well as making it stiff, we were able to shave 100 grams off the rear-end which helps to minimize flexing in the frame, even while the suspension is active at the back.

Our Rx Trail Tune dramatically improves suspension performance and enables the bike to land smack in the middle of the adjustment spectrum every time, no matter the size of frame, wheel or rider. As we've made a specific Rx Trail Tune for each wheel platform, not only can you fine-tune your ride on the fly, you'll also receive perfectly linear suspension regardless of the size you ride.

We have good news for all those looking for a user-friendly ride: threaded bottom brackets are back! We've also made space to accommodate a 3.0 tyre, all in an effort to make the Stumpjumper an easier bike to life with. As we're using standard metric shocks on the Stumpys, you're free to go out and grab any kind of aftermarket rear shock you want go wild. We've also given the SWATTM box a bit of a makeover too, the new design boasting a sleeker aesthetic and lighter, more spacey construction.

The bike is also awash with a load of cool added features, like our Flip Chip that allows you to drop your bottom bracket by 6mm and slacken the head tube by half-a-degree, increasing your handling on the rougher stuff. A ribbed chainstay is another cool feature, virtually silencing the drivetrain and relegating chain slap to days of old. Finally, we've also added a neat feature for all of you home mechanics you get full tubes throughout the frame. No more frustrated faffing as you re-thread internal cables.

It might not have S-Works stamped across the downtube, but it's certainly still ready to rock straight from the box. No-nonsense components like the 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, SRAM Guide R disc brakes, FOX front and rear suspension and a pair of Roval Traverse 29 wheels deliver undeniable quality, making this the perfect bike for shredding on an everyman's budget.

  • The asymmetrical FACT 11m carbon fibre frame is built with our iconic 29 Trail Geometry, making it a super lightweight and stiff yet comfortable frame ready to tackle any trail. With new or improved features like a threaded BB, user-friendly internal cable routing, a ribbed chainstay protector and SWATTM integration in the down tube, you’d be hard pressed to find a better all-round trail bike.
  • An Rx Trail Tune on the FOX DPS Performance rear shock eliminates the inconsistencies sometimes felt between different sizes, ensuring every model is dialled-in for that perfect ride feel.
  • You’ll struggle to run out of gears with SRAM’s 12-speed NX Eagle groupset, whether gliding up climbs or barrelling down descents.

Please note that this bike does not come with pedals.
