Shimano Voluntary Inspection & Replacement Program
Shimano has announced a voluntary Inspection and Replacement Program for certain bonded 11-Speed HOLLOWTECH II Road Cranksets.
Please stop riding the below models immediately:
Ultegra FC-6800
Ultegra FC-R8000
Dura-Ace FC-9000
Dura-Ace FC-R9100
Dura-Ace FC-R9100P

The suggested advice is to stop riding aftermarket powermeter options (such as Stages and 4iii) as well. Shimano should also provide solutions for any chainsets fitted with aftermarket power meters.
Shimano have asked that Shimano authorised retailers inspect applicable, pre-July 2019, cranksets, and they will replace any cranksets that do not pass the inspection process. There is no need for replacement of cranksets that pass the inspection process.
Not all 11-speed HOLLOWTECH II road cranksets need to be inspected. Only cranksets produced between June 1, 2012, up to and including June 30, 2019, need to be inspected. Please follow the link below to identify if your crankset is affected:
If you have purchased one of these products through a Concept Store retailer, please get in touch directly to discuss scheduling your inspection, or fill out the workshop enquiry form, which can be found here.
