Unleash speed with the Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 - Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, a victory-bound aerodynamic road bike. Lightweight, stiff and compliant, it's the fastest ever, outperforming in key areas for a groundbreaking ride. Made for speed demons!

S-Works Tarmac SL8: The World's Fastest Race Bike

The Tarmac SL8 isn’t just the fastest Tarmac ever; it’s the world’s fastest race bike—period. After eight generations and over two decades of relentless development, we’ve crafted a machine that redefines speed. With a perfect combination of aerodynamics, lightweight, and ride quality previously thought impossible, the Tarmac SL8 will have you asking, “Are my legs ready for this?”

The Speed Formula: Aerodynamics + Lightweight + Stiffness

Speed doesn’t come from aerodynamics or lightweight alone. It’s the uncompromising combination of aero efficiency, lightweight construction, stiffness, and compliance that wins races. Our Ride Science team used real-world data and race simulations to prove that the Tarmac SL8 is faster than any race bike ever made on the courses that matter. Whether it's 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster over Milan-San Remo, or 20 seconds faster up the legendary Tourmalet climb, the numbers don’t lie.

Aero in Everything: Every Detail Counts

We’ve put aero where it matters most: at the leading edge. The Tarmac SL8 is now more aero than even the Venge, making it our most aerodynamic road bike ever. Key improvements include the Speed Sniffer—a new nose cone that optimizes clean airflow. The steer tube has been moved back, allowing for a sharper, lower-drag head tube. And, with new UCI rules in mind, we’ve designed the narrowest seat post ever made, ensuring that dirty air around the legs can flow cleanly and efficiently.

Victory never looked this good.

Minimum Weight, Maximum Aero

Building the Tarmac SL8 required innovation in every aspect. Drawing inspiration from the Aethos, we’ve created a bike that’s not only light but also aero optimised. At just 685 grams, it’s 15% lighter than the previous Tarmac SL7 and lighter than anything else on the World Tour (unless you count Kasper Asgreen racing the 585g Aethos frame during a Tour stage). The frame is designed to carry load efficiently, eliminating the need for extra carbon stiffness layers. This makes the Tarmac SL8 not only incredibly light but also remarkably strong and responsive.

Goes Like Hell, Rides Like Heaven

The Tarmac SL8 isn’t just fast on paper—it rides fast. With a 33% improvement in stiffness-to-weight over the SL7, it delivers precision handling and aggressive responsiveness while maintaining ride comfort that sets a new standard in race bikes. Rider-First Engineering ensures that every rider, regardless of size, gets the same world-class handling and ride quality. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more compliance, allowing it to float over rough roads with a smooth, supple feel that’s unmatched in the high-strung world of racing.

And with 32mm tire clearance and proven geometry, the Tarmac SL8 adapts seamlessly to higher-volume tires for added versatility when you need it most.

Beyond Gender

Gender-specific bikes are outdated. Performance is not determined by gender alone—there can be more variance between two male riders than between a male and female rider. The Tarmac SL8 is designed for all riders, pushing the boundaries of bike fit and ride performance to help every cyclist achieve their potential. It’s time to go Beyond Gender.

S-Works Tarmac SL8 Build: Race-Ready Perfection

The S-Works Tarmac SL8 comes equipped with only the best. Featuring the Shimano Dura-Ace 9200 Di2 groupset, including a dual-sided power meter, and a Roval Rapide CLX II tubeless-ready wheelset, this bike is the ultimate complement to the world’s fastest frame. Every S-Works Tarmac SL8 also comes with a Roval Rapide cockpit, saving weight and improving aero efficiency for the fastest possible front-end performance.
