We’ve focused aero where it matters most—the leading edge. The Tarmac SL8 is our most aerodynamic bike ever, even faster than the Venge. Its new nose cone—the Speed Sniffer—optimises airflow to maximise advantage, while the sharper head tube reduces drag. By moving the steer tube back, we’ve created a lower-drag shape that slices through the wind. With new UCI rules in mind, we’ve also developed the narrowest, most aero seatpost ever, allowing air around the legs to flow back more cleanly. Victory has never smelled so sweet.

Lightweight Meets Aero: 685g of Pure Speed

The Tarmac SL8 is not only aero but also incredibly lightweight. Drawing on lessons from the Aethos, we’ve crafted a 685g frame—15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and the lightest on the World Tour. The frame’s design prioritises lightness without sacrificing stiffness or power transfer. The down tube, seat tube, and rear triangle are engineered for optimal load efficiency, reducing the need for extra carbon layers. (And yes, this bike is lighter than the 585g Aethos frame Kasper Asgreen raced on during a Tour stage.)

The Tarmac SL8 takes stiffness-to-weight to a whole new level. With a 33% improvement over the SL7, the bike is stiffer at the pedals, more responsive at the bars, and yet 6% more compliant in the saddle.
