CruX Elite X1
£3000.00
Our CruX Elite X1 was built to deliver a no-nonsense approach to the discipline of cyclocross, because, in cross, only the strongest survive. We implemented our Rider-First Engineered technology in this frame, a technique that was first introduced on our elite road bike, the Tarmac. Using size-specific tubes and layups, Rider-First Engineered means the CruX can feature the same ride characteristics across every size in the range, while dropping weight considerably at the same time. How light Well the CruX now comes in at a scant 900 grams for a 56cm frame which is more than 400 grams lighter than the previous frameset. It's no good having a light and stiff frame on a cyclocross bike unless it's also compliant. We took extra care to hit the right balance of stiffness and compliance when designing the CruX, lowering the seat collar by two centimetres to expose more of the seatpost (and therefore adding a bit more impact cushioning for those inevitable big hits.) We also know that cyclocross races are often won in the corners and over the barriers, which is why the CruX geometry takes this into account. The top tube has been designed for easy shouldering when you're hopping off to clear barriers, with a large opening to the front triangle and a flat bottom. CX races are won, more often than not, in the corners and over the barriers which is why we paid particular attention to the geometry of the CruX. The top tube is designed to be easily shouldered great when you're hopping off to clear a particularly big obstacle with a large opening and flat bottom (so it doesn't dig into the shoulder blade.) We also included a low bottom bracket and a sharp front end, delivering extra vital stability. The combination of these features also helps the rider to hit the best possible line through corners, regardless of the terrain. We included eight millimetres of clearance on all sides of a 33mm tyre, allowing the bike to shed as much weight as possible as you ride along. After all, there's no point having a light bike if it's caked in 5kg of mud! The CruX Elite X1 comes ready to race: a SRAM Rival 1 hydraulic disc groupset, lightweight and durable Roval SLX 24 clincher disc wheels, and 2Bliss Ready tyres.
- Our FACT 11r carbon frame features a race-ready 'cross geometry, and comes equipped with thru-axles, 142mm rear spacing, and takes advantage of our highest quality carbon production methods in order to create a bike that's as responsive as it is lightweight.
- The internally routed S-Works FACT carbon disc fork features a thru-axle design that increases steering response and rider input for the tight turns and the all-out efforts 'cross demands.
- SRAM Rival shift levers deliver reliable shifting in nasty conditions, which is furthered by a one-by shift setup that makes dropping chains on the course a thing of the past. Say goodbye to front derailleurs and hello to hassle-free racing.
Please note that this bike does not come with pedals.
