Why settle for a bike that forces you to choose between aerodynamics and weight, between comfort and speed? You shouldn’t. Introducing the new Tarmac—a bike that’s as light as the UCI regulations allow for climbing, yet as fast as they come for descending. Powered by cutting-edge technology like our FreeFoil Shape Library and the new Rider-First Engineered™ frame, the Tarmac is a race bike that leaves no room for compromise. Gone are the days of choosing between “aero” and “lightweight”—this new Tarmac is the fastest race bike we’ve ever made. One bike, designed to dominate them all.

To match the world’s fastest frame, only the best components will do. That’s why you’ll find Shimano’s Dura-Ace group with power meter and Roval’s CLX Rapide wheels, offering exceptional stability and aerodynamic performance. The S-Works Tarmac is a top-tier race machine, right out of the box.

We’ve long believed that 'aero is everything,' and it remains the driving force behind the new Tarmac. In the pursuit of the fastest frame possible under UCI rules, we took inspiration from the Venge and tapped into our FreeFoil Shape Library. With a library of optimised shapes, we used the Win Tunnel to validate them on a modular test bike. The result? A new Tarmac that’s 45 seconds faster over 40km than the Tarmac SL6—pure, unrelenting speed, with no compromises.

While aerodynamics are key to the Tarmac’s design, weight is just as crucial. In the past, aero bikes often came at the cost of weight—cutting drag meant adding bulk. But with the new Tarmac, our goal was to keep the frame at or below the UCI weight limit, without sacrificing any aerodynamic performance. Using the FreeFoil Shape Library, isotropic FEA analysis, and the expertise of our top engineers, we created a frame that weighs just 800 grams, maintaining perfect aero, stiffness, and ride quality.

In our relentless pursuit of the ultimate race bike, we applied our Rider-First Engineered™ philosophy to make the new Tarmac the best-handling, most balanced version yet—regardless of size. With insights from the world’s best test riders across our three World Tour teams—Boels-Dolmans, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, and Bora-hansgrohe—we fine-tuned the bike based on their thousands of kilometers on the road. The result? A ride that strikes the perfect balance between front and rear end comfort, ensuring that even the longest days in the saddle remain comfortable—without compromising the Tarmac’s legendary race-winning agility and responsiveness.

Building on lessons learned from the Venge, the new Tarmac features simple integration for a clean, fast cockpit that’s easy to live with. We’ve improved routing for every configuration—mechanical shifting, traditional stems, round bars—while maintaining aerodynamics. These same features also make the Tarmac easy to maintain and travel with, making it the ultimate all-around race bike. A true win-win.
