S-Works Roubaix

It's not uncommon that many a person's bike selection is limited to either a rigid and hard ride or a smooth and comfortable cruiser, well we decided that needs to change and we did it with the new Roubaix.

The top spec S-Works Roubaix consists of a completely Rider-first engineered frame, Future Shock technology and a top spec build kit with the awesome Shimano Dura-Ace Di2. Its ready to tackle the local ride to the coffee shop or take it up a notch on a fast cobble street race.

We put a lot of thought into the frame and it really came out great. Its made from the top spec Fact 11r carbon fibre, making it stiffer and more efficient than our charts have ever seen.Using our vast knowledge from the RETUL database we were able to keep the same comfort and feel of the much-loved SL4, plus keeping it a consistent fit across the board.

Up front is the Future Shock, it's our bar-raising new technology, developed hand-in-hand with McLaren Applied Technologies with the aim of keeping efficiency and handling consistent, no matter how rough the road is. What we came up with was a piston or spring in the head tube, offering up to 20mm of travel, addressing performance in vertical compliance rather than working with traditional suspension systems. In the past, fork splay would be the go-to method of smoothing out rough surfaces, but that means stretching the wheelbase which loosens up the handling and compromises pace and efficiency. By focussing on vertical compliance and sending road feedback up through the headtube, the bike essentially stays the same shape, maintaining its exquisite handling and ensuring that the Roubaix outperforms any of its competitors.

The Top spec kit consists of the unbeatable Shimano Dura-Ace 9150 Di2 electric groupset along with a set of 9170 hydraulic disc brakes. Along with the range of S-Works kit there's a set of hand built Roval carbon CLX 32s with super smooth Ceramic Speed bearings situated in custom hubs. This mix of seriously specialist parts gets you a race bike that's ready to take on the rough stuff and make it silky smooth.
